The Coral Rose

If you just happened to pass by, the Kundirana is a portmanteau of the tagalog words Kundiman (love song) and Harana (to serenade.) It is also the name of one of the oldest and famous (from my most biased opinion) high school glee club/show choir in the Philippines.  Established in 1971, it has developed and trained many of the Philippine's movers in the music industry - as well as successful professionals in various fields.

The name "Coral Rose" is derived from the names of two important pillars of the Kundirana.

Coral is derived from the last name of Pilita Corrales - known as "Asia's Queen of Song" - and long standing member of the La Salle Young Artists Foundation and mentor to the Kundirana.

Rose is the first name of Mommy Rose Balana - the Kundirana's 1st musical director, moderator and second mother to the Kundirana.

A coral colored rose is also a symbol of excitement, passion and appreciation of ones accomplishments.  Something our mothers would always feel for us, regardless of how great or little our accomplishments may be.

As I write this, it is the 40th year of the Kundirana and we have just completed our 40th anniversary concert.  It is with this concert, that our fire has been renewed.  We, the members of this project, aim to bring our brothers together in time for our 50th anniversary and beyond.

The Vision

By 2021 - our 50th year, there will most likely be around 700 Kundirana members.  It is our vision that all of our brothers will be with us on our 50th anniversary.

The Mission

Our mission is to find all our Kundirana brothers.
And as Kundirana make it our commitment that year in and out, we will find a way to contact them and for them to contact our fellow Kundirana.

The Future

More than just a search, the Coral Rose Project is a continuous commitment by its proponents and members to stay connected.

Disclaimer

Our posts will only show general updates of Kundirana members.  WE WILL NOT RELEASE TO THE PUBLIC any contact information of our brothers.  If there is an urgent need for information to be released, we will defer this to the approval of the La Salle Young Artists Foundation and to the member himself.  We do not require members to provide their home addresses, etc... we shall only require them to provide a way to contact them -- either via social media sites, email, phone, etc.

Even in this day and age, we will most likely use non electronic recording methods (the address book!) to record contact information of our Kundi VIPs.

We are not a talent booking site, please contact the artists' managers to book them.
